I imagine it must have been difficult to compile all the letters and journal entries by those involved in this truly incredible life. The best stories are those that are true. This book is about the man called Dietrich Bonhoeffer who penned some of the famous texts in the 20th century. With that being said, when I requested a copy of Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy by Eric Metaxas, I didn't realize what an incredible reading experience I was about to have. Having traveled for a year all over Germany, this book came alive for me. It was a fascinatingly compelling story of a theologian who was killed for his role in a conspiracy against Hitler.
